Privacy Policy Terms & Conditions

This Privacy Policy describes how Decoded Lemon ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with the PapadiPark App (the "App"), which supports 21 Chunks puppet shows for schools and parents. We are committed to transparency and to safeguarding the privacy of our users and their children.

1. Information We Collect

PapadiPark requires an account to use. Depending on whether you are a school, a parent, or a member of the PapadiPark team, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account Information — your name and email address, collected when you register, and your role (school, parent, or team member).
  • Children's Information — the names of the children a parent adds to their account and the school each child is associated with. This information is provided by the parent and reviewed by the school or PapadiPark team.
  • School & Branch Details — for school accounts, the branches you manage, their addresses, and billing details.
  • Show & Booking Data — scheduled and completed shows, the performing team member, and any comments a school leaves on a show.
  • Photos & Highlights — photos and notes captured by the PapadiPark team for each show, which are then shown to the relevant schools and parents.
  • Notification Tokens — a push notification token used to deliver alerts about your shows. This is generated by the Expo push service and does not identify you personally.
  • Usage Data — basic technical information such as your device type and operating system version, used for app compatibility and stability.

We do not collect precise geolocation, and we do not process payment card details within the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate and improve PapadiPark. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
  • Show schools and parents the upcoming and completed shows relevant to them.
  • Let parents add children and let schools or the PapadiPark team review and approve those requests.
  • Display photo highlights and notes from each show to the appropriate audience.
  • Enable schools to manage their branches, addresses, and billing details and to request new branches.
  • Send notifications about your shows where you have permitted them.
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve app stability.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Who Can See Your Data

Access to personal data within the App is governed by your role:

  • Parents can see their own account, the children they have added, and the shows, history, and highlights for their children's schools.
  • Schools can see their branches, the children associated with them, and the shows and highlights for those branches.
  • The PapadiPark Team (staff and administrators) can schedule shows, manage bookings, capture highlights, and approve children and branches.

4. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. PapadiPark is built with the following protections:

  • Encrypted Connections — all data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS.
  • Authenticated Access — data is protected behind secure sign-in, and access is restricted according to your role.
  • Account Approval — new accounts and child additions are confirmed by a school or the PapadiPark team.

While we implement strong technical safeguards, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you become aware of any security concern, please contact us immediately.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, either in-app or by contacting us (see Section 9).

6. Children's Privacy

PapadiPark is designed to be used by adults — parents, school staff, and the PapadiPark team. Information about children is added and managed by their parents or schools; children do not create or operate accounts themselves. We handle children's information only to provide the App's features and never use it for advertising. If you believe a child's information has been added without proper authority, please contact us and we will promptly investigate and remove it where appropriate.

7. Third-Party Services

PapadiPark relies on the following third-party infrastructure providers to operate the App:

  • Supabase — our backend database, authentication, and storage provider. Supabase processes and stores the data you provide on our behalf, under our instructions. Their practices are governed by the Supabase Privacy Policy.
  • Expo — used to deliver push notifications about your shows. Notification delivery is handled via the Expo push service. Their practices are governed by the Expo Privacy Policy.

We do not integrate advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or analytics SDKs that share your data with third parties.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws such as POPIA (South Africa), GDPR (EU/UK), and CCPA (California, USA) — including the right to access, correct, or delete your data and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 9. We will respond within a reasonable time and in any case within 30 days where required by law.

By downloading, installing, or using the PapadiPark App (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. The App is operated by Decoded Lemon ("we," "us," or "our") to support 21 Chunks puppet shows.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

The App is intended for adults — parents and guardians, school staff, and members of the PapadiPark team. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering, and you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. New accounts and child additions may require approval by a school or the PapadiPark team.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose — following, scheduling, and managing puppet shows and related information. You agree that you will not:

  • Add children or school information you are not authorised to provide.
  • Upload or submit unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or inappropriate content.
  • Attempt to access data belonging to other users beyond the access your role provides.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, or use automated scripts or bots against our systems.

3. Content You Provide

You retain ownership of the information you submit, such as account details, children's names, school details, and comments. By submitting this content, you grant us a limited technical licence to host, store, and display it solely to provide the App's features to you and the relevant schools, parents, and team members. Photos and highlights captured by the PapadiPark team remain subject to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

4. Bookings & Billing

The App allows schools to record branch and billing details and to request shows and new branches. Any fees for puppet shows are arranged between the school and 21 Chunks / PapadiPark outside the App unless expressly stated otherwise in-app. The App does not process card payments directly.

5. Service Availability & "As-Is" Disclaimer

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. Network issues or maintenance by our infrastructure providers (such as Supabase or Expo) may temporarily affect performance. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Decoded Lemon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the App.

6. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, either in-app or by contacting us. We may retain certain information where required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in courts located in South Africa.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice in-app. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
