This Privacy Policy describes how Decoded Lemon ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with Sprout (the "App"), a cozy, offline plant-care game. Sprout is built to collect nothing, and this policy explains exactly what that means in practice.
1. Information We Collect
None. Sprout has no account system, no login, and no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs of any kind. We do not collect your name, email address, device identifiers, location, or usage data — because the App never asks for it and has no server to send it to.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
Your garden — plant states, meters, growth progress, cosmetic unlocks, and journal entries — is saved locally to your device in a single save file, along with your preferences. This data never leaves your device, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and is not backed up to any cloud service by the App itself. Deleting the App deletes this data. We have no way to access, view, or recover it.
3. In-App Purchases
Sprout offers optional in-app purchases (extra seeds, pots, card art, backdrops, and card packs), processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit or Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details — that information is handled directly by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We only receive confirmation that a purchase succeeded, which the App uses locally to unlock the relevant content.
4. Notifications
If you allow it, the App schedules one local daily reminder using your device's built-in notification system. This is generated and delivered entirely on-device — no notification service or third party is involved, and no data about you is sent anywhere to make it happen. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings without affecting how the App works.
5. Children's Privacy
Sprout is rated for a general audience (4+ / Everyone) and contains no ads, no user-to-user content, and no data collection of any kind, making it suitable for children. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, no special handling is required for users of any age.
6. Third-Party Services
The only platform-level services Sprout touches are Apple StoreKit and Google Play Billing (to process optional purchases) and your device's local notification scheduler. Neither transmits information about you to us. Sprout does not integrate advertising networks, analytics tools, or any other third-party SDK.
7. Your Rights
Because Sprout does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, there is no personal data of yours for us to access, correct, or delete — it never leaves your device in the first place. Terms & Conditions
By downloading, installing, or using Sprout (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. The App is operated by Decoded Lemon ("we," "us," or "our").
1. The App
Sprout is a single-player, fully offline plant-care game. No account, login, or internet connection is required to play. Your garden lives entirely on your device.
2. Time-Based Progression
Sprout advances one in-game day per real calendar day, based on your device's clock. Plants consume water, sunlight, and nutrients whether or not the App is open, and pests and weeds may appear over time. Progress after an extended absence is capped at 60 missed days. Changing your device's date or time may affect how the App calculates elapsed days.
3. Plant Loss
Neglecting a plant — letting any of its meters sit at zero for two consecutive in-game days — will cause that individual plant to die permanently. This is a core game mechanic, not a bug, and it is not reversible through customer support. Loss is per-plant only; it does not affect your other plants or your save file as a whole.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose. You agree that you will not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, tamper with or falsify its save data to gain an unfair advantage in ways that circumvent purchases, or use the App for any unlawful purpose.
5. In-App Purchases
Sprout offers the following optional in-app purchases, billed through the App Store or Google Play:

Each pot purchase also increases the number of plants you can grow at once. All purchases other than the Extra Card Pack are one-time and permanent for the device or account they were bought on. The App's built-in Restore button re-syncs your non-consumable entitlements from the App Store or Google Play at any time, including after a reinstall or device change; it does not restore consumable purchases such as card packs, and it does not affect or restore plants, which live only in your local save file. The free Oak seed, terracotta pot, Ordinary card art, and Garden backdrop are available to everyone at no cost and are not required to enjoy the App.
All purchases are subject to Apple's or Google's own payment terms, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google directly, not by us.
6. Notifications
If you grant permission, the App schedules one optional local daily reminder. Declining this permission does not restrict any feature of the App.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, artwork, code, and content, is owned by Decoded Lemon and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Purchasing cosmetic or content unlocks grants you a licence to use that content within the App; it does not transfer ownership of any underlying assets.
8. Service Availability & "As-Is" Disclaimer
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Because all game data is stored locally, uninstalling the App, resetting your device, or losing your device may result in permanent loss of your save data; we are not able to recover it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Decoded Lemon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of save data, arising from your use of the App.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in courts located in South Africa.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice in-app. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
